Dan Voellinger’s passion for photography began in Rochester, New York, where he interned at Eastman Kodak during high school—an experience that taught him to carefully plan and compose every shot. During forty years with the Navy, he traveled the world with a camera in hand, spending nearly thirty years based in Japan.
Dan’s current award-winning work, “Freedom of Ties” series, is featured at D.R. Abbott Gallery. This acclaimed series has been recognized by the Tokyo International Foto Awards, earning international recognition for its distinctive artistic vision. As well as being featured at the Glasgow Gallery of Photography and a Bronze Award in both 2025 and 2026 in the PPA International Photographic Competition.
