I grew up amid the breathtaking mountains of West Virginia, where I discovered my deep love for art among the vivid landscape of greenery and wildlife. After relocating to Florida and spending two decades in secretarial work, I retired at 55 and pursued my passion at the Academy of Art University in California.
A pivotal moment came when my niece requested animal paintings for my great-nephew’s room. His delighted reaction illuminated a profound connection that inspired my artistic mission: fostering empathy for the diverse creatures sharing our planet, many threatened by habitat destruction and extinction.
I blend minimalism with realism through dynamic action painting, using acrylics for their vibrant hues and adaptability. Through meticulous layering, I create intricate textures and striking details that breathe life into my subjects. There is no greater satisfaction than witnessing the spark of connection my art ignites in viewers’ hearts with each new piece I create.
